Smitten... with Concrete

If someone had told me 20 years ago that I would be so intrigued and excited about concrete, I would not have believed it.

Concrete's sustainability comes from its durability, longevity, and ability to be recycled. Concrete also offers energy efficiency, reduced waste and reduced carbon footprints.

There are so many beautiful examples, but I particularly like how Australian architect Lachlan Shepherd designed his eco-friendly Torterra House. It might not fit Pittsburgh aesthetics, but it certainly is a striking example of sustainable design. Check it out!
