Hello.  I'm Theresa.

Verdant Village Ventures is a passion project sprung from my hopes and dreams.  

While exploring ways to live more sustainably, I have learned a lot, and met some inspiring individuals along the way... many of whom share the belief that our actions impact the wellbeing of the others... future generations, vulnerable communities, entire ecosystems and the planet as a whole. 

My hope is that sharing this experience and the resources accumulated along the way will bring about visionary, intentional communities.

Stewardship is a huge responsibility, but as individuals and communities, we can make a difference.... we can act for the greater good.... we can be the change.  

 

For nearly 10 years, I have been attempting to purchase and preserve acreage... to have a place to grow native plants, produce food, protect natural resources, restore habitats, and live a simple existence in harmony with nature. There have been far more challenges than anticipated and turning this dream into reality has been an adventure.  From classes in sustainability, permaculture design and intentional community to research related to homesteading, passive design and real estate development, I am learning to navigate the process of creating a regenerative model community in the Pittsburgh area.  Each challenge has been an opportunity for growth, and the process has led me to this place and to the realization that it will take a village to build this dream.
